History

In 1998 a group of in Methodism ran a tour called 'Approaching Revival' - days of worship, teaching and prayer around issues of spiritual revival. Since then the same group has run conferences each year under the banner 'Church In Revival', open to all, but aimed at leaders in the church.

We have focussed on a range of issues around revival - developing corporate prayer, anointed leadership, repentance and holiness, and prophetic role of the church.

We have had a mix of inspirational speakers - learning from churches across the world caught up in recent spiritual renewal - Scott McDermott from Washington United Methodists in USA, Perry Dalton from Pensacola, Florida, Isaac Lim & team from Singapore Methodist District, Carl Brettle from Intercessors for Wales, and Bob Dunnett from Prayer for Revival team in Graham Horsley from the Connexional Team. In October 2005 Scott McDermott returned this time with John & Carol Arnott from the Toronto Airport Church for the "Touch the Father's Heart" Conference.

To develop a network for leaders in Methodism to meet together for prayer, renewing and resourcing we organised between April and July (2005) "Ignite Days" for local leaders lead by a small group of Ignite leaders in ten regions around the country.
